    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • *** Semi-critical equipment such as manicure, pedicure tools, and extraction loops were not cleaned, then disinfected with a high level disinfectant. Ultracare Disinfectant Cleaner was used for semi-critical equipment, however it did not have a DIN issued by Health Canada, and there was no high level disinfectant claim.*** Rejuvenate disinfectant wipes were expired since 12/2024, and did not have a DIN issued by Health Canada.Corrective Actions:- Acquire a high level disinfectant with a Drug Identification Number (DIN) issued by Health Canada, and corresponding test strips.- Test the efficacy of the disinfectant each day it is used. Two copies of the AHS high level disinfectant log were left onsite. Recommend that both copies be laminated and used with an erasable marker. Alternative the use of these two copies after each 14 day resuse period so that a full set of records will always be ready for review.- Acquire a low or intermediate level disinfectant to replace the expired and inadequate wipes.- Follow the manufacturer's instructions for all dilution, reuse periods, contact time, and rinsing procedures.
