    • 17. Is reusable equipment cleaned properly (Critical)?
      • **Hair was noted on multiple brushes and combs stored in containers labeled “cleaned”. Several combs had visible residue on the teeth. Please reclean and disinfect all the hair tools. **Hair was noted in the perm roller storage containers. Please clean and disinfect the storage trays.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • **Lysol spray was being used as disinfectant for surfaces in the hair styling area. Contact time of 10 min was not being reached. Ensure ‘wipe twice’ method is carried out to clean and disinfect surfaces (2 step process -clean first, disinfectant second). Ensure contact time is reached. Ensure wiping cloths are saturated with chemicals. Please review with all staff.

    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • *Two bottles of Preempt CS20 high level disinfectant were observed. Opened bottle was expired (November9, 2024). Esthetician confirmed she used the expired disinfectant today. Discussed the disinfectant manufacture does not guarantee the disinfectant is effective after expiry date even if testing showed it passed. Remove expired disinfectant and ensure only non-expired disinfectant is used. Please follow disinfectant manufacturer’s instruction for use. Corrected on site: Disinfectant removed from the manicure/pedicure area.*High level disinfectant log was reviewed. It was observed the disinfectant was used passed its 14 days reused period. Leah confirmed she used the disinfectant passed the 14 days. Discussed the disinfectant manufacture does not guarantee the disinfectant is effective after 14 days being decanted from the main bottle. Stop this practice, do not use high level disinfectant pass its 14 days reuse period. Please follow disinfectant manufacturer’s instruction for use. Corrected on site: Discussed with esthetician and she agreed.
