      • A bucket was observed beneath piping in the pool mechanical room, indicating an active leak. Facility staff advised that one of the leaks cannot be repaired without jackhammering the floor. An additional leak was also observed in the room. Leaks within the mechanical room should be addressed to prevent deterioration, damage to equipment or building components, and potential impacts to the safe operation of the facility.It is recommended that the facility consider options to address the leaks.It is recommended that a light switch be installed inside the building to allow the chlorine room to be illuminated without requiring staff to go outside to activate the light. The viewing window is intended to allow staff to visually inspect the chlorine room without entering the room; however, adequate lighting is required to make this observation effective. Installing an interior light switch would allow the room to be inspected without the use of a flashlight.Additionally, as the chemical scale readings are required to be visible, consideration should be given to orienting the tanks and gauges toward the viewing window to allow for easier monitoring and verification.During the inspection, staff were unable to access the mechanical room after several attempts using the keypad code. A second staff member attended and, after multiple attempts, was able to successfully gain entry. Upon completion of the inspection, additional attempts were required before the keypad secured the door.The facility should consider options to ensure reliable access control for the mechanical room. If a keyed lock system is used as an alternative to the keypad, the facility should consider implementing a dedicated mechanical room key that is easily identifiable and not routinely carried with personal keys. This may help reduce the risk of the key being inadvertently removed from the facility or misplaced.

      • The paint in the family change room above the showers is flaking. This requires repair so it is smooth and impervious to moisture. There was also an area in the women's change room that appears to have some paint starting to peel. CORRECTEDI was advised that a pipe was recently leaking, which required cutting out a section of the ceiling for access. This area has been repaired, but the drywall mud hasn't been painted yet. The utility room on the deck should be kept locked. This is to prevent access by unauthorized individuals, particularly children.Two buckets were observed under piping in the pool room. The leaks need to be repaired. Please let me know when this has been completed.I recommend a switch inside the building to turn a light on so the chlorine room can be visually inspected through the glass window.

      • The door to the chemical room has a lock however it does not self-close; looks like some sort of adjustment is required. Staff need to pull the door closed.The paint in the family change room above the showers is flaking. This requires repair so it is smooth and impervious to moisture. There was also an area in the women's change room that appears to have some paint starting to peel.

      • The family change room door was found ajar. This door must close automatically. Maintenance was brought in to look at the concern and will try and find a solution (automatic closer may need adjusting or air handling may need to be adjusted).The chemical door was also not self-closing as intended. This too must be repaired.
