      • The facility was using the same sink for hand washing and equipment reprocessing with no written procedure for sink decontamination between reprocessing and handwashing activities. Please follow the template (page 6) attached to develop a written procedure that personal services workers will follow to appropriately clean and disinfect the sink area between reprocessing and handwashing activities.

      • Operator submitted a photo of newly purchased CS-20 for reprocessing of semi-critical items. Test strips for the CS-20 are still required. Operator states that until test strips are purchased, the solution will be changed out every other use.

      • Intermediate-level disinfectant (Preempt RTU) was being used for disinfecting semi-critical equipment such as nail clippers. Semi-critical equipment must be cleaned and then disinfected with a high-level disinfectant. Please purchase a high-level disinfectant and appropriate test strips. An AHS high-level disinfection log was provided to the operator.
