    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • 1) Bottle of PREempt HLD 5 had expired in October 22, 2025. New bottle of PREempt HLD 5 was available with expiration date of January 15, 2027. Staff discarded the expired PREempt HLD5. (CDI)2) Manicure tools were not immersed in the PREempt HLD5 for 5 minutes.HLD5 Directions for use-Clean instruments using water, detergent and brush (or ultrasonic cleaner).-Rinse with water and dry thoroughly.-Fully immerse tools in PREempt HLD5 for 5 MINUTES. Re-use solution for multiple applications up to 14 Days (use Test Strips to validate).-Rinse tools with water and leave to air dry or dry manually using clean, lint-free cloth.-Store in a clean, closed container labeled "Disinfected" to protect from potential contamination.3) Mint All Purpose Cleaner or 70% Alcohol was used to disinfect surfaces. These do not have a DIN on the label. Please use a low-level disinfectant with a DIN on surfaces. 4) Manicures and pedicures tools were washed in hair washing sink.All tools required to be reprocessed in a clean sink. 5) PREempt HLD 5 is used for 2 days. No test strips available to verify that it still meets disinfectant strength. Provide test strips or discarded HLD 5 at the end of the day. A record is required if test strips are used.6) Combs were not fully submerged in the barbicide.Ensure combs are fully submerged in the barbicide.
