Inspection summary

Wood Pines RV Resort - Swimming Pool has been inspected 4 times by Alberta Health Services (Environmental Public Health) since June 25, 2025. The most recent inspection, on October 7, 2026, found no infractions.

1 of 4 inspections on record found no infractions at all. In the past 12 months there was 1 inspection with 0 infractions recorded. The higher-risk findings here relate to: Pool and spa water quality and Chemicals and toxic substances.

Recent inspections have recorded fewer infractions than earlier ones, so the record is improving.

What these findings mean

Health authorities word their findings differently, so we group them by what they mean for the people using the facility. Higher-risk findings are the ones that could directly cause illness or injury, such as water that is not properly treated.

  • Pool and spa water qualityHigher risk

For pools, spas and splash pads, inspectors test disinfectant levels, pH and water clarity, and check safety equipment. Water that is not properly treated can spread skin, ear and stomach infections.

Recorded 7 times across 3 separate inspections, most recently on August 15, 2025. For example: Are the filtration, circulation and disinfection systems used to maintain water quality working properly (Non-Critical)?

  • Chemicals and toxic substancesHigher risk

Pool chemicals such as chlorine and acid must be labelled, stored apart from each other and handled safely. Mixing them by mistake can release toxic gas, so storage and handling problems are treated seriously.

Recorded once on June 25, 2025. For example: Is the chemical quality of the water in this pool satisfactory (Critical)?

  • Permits, records and postingLower risk

Operating permits, water-test logs, posted bather rules and emergency procedures. Daily test logs are how operators show the water was checked and treated between inspections.

Recorded 4 times across 3 separate inspections, most recently on August 15, 2025. For example: Does the facility have a valid permit and does the facility operate in compliance with the conditions of that permit?

  • Food safety training and certificationLower risk

Many jurisdictions require trained pool operators and certified lifeguards. These findings mean required training, certification or staffing records were missing at the time of inspection.

Recorded once on June 25, 2025. For example: Does the pool have adequate written policies, plans and posted rules and safety information to ensure that the pool is operating in a safe manner?

    • 07. Are the filtration, circulation and disinfection systems used to maintain water quality working properly (Non-Critical)?
      • PREVIOUSLY - In the mechanical room for this pool, there was no flow meter installed that could be observed.A flow meter is required so that the turnover rate can be calculated.Based on this pool basin design and operation - it will require a turnover rate of 4.0 hours or less. Therefore, based on an estimated water volume of 20,000 USgal., you will need to have a minimum flow rate of 84 gpm.July 9, 2025 - a flow meter has been installed and it is reading between 60 to 65 gpm.Note - the flow rate does not meet the minimum requirements to achieve a 4 hour turnover rate.
    • 11. Does the facility have a valid permit and does the facility operate in compliance with the conditions of that permit?
      • Operator has submitted a Pool Permit Application, but the supporting documents have not been provided to the PHI, therefore the Pool Permit Application is incomplete. Please supply documentation regarding: - the anti-entrapment plan. - engineered drawings for the basin design and recirculation system. - a copy of your written emergency plans. - and any other documents as listed in the Pool Permit Application.July 9, 2025 - PHI has received an email with most of the written emergency plans for the pool - this is a really good start. The other documents ( engineered drawings and anti-entrapment plan ) are still outstanding.
    • 18. Have plans for construction, renovations or alteration for the pool been submitted for written approval?
      • The operator has not submitted any engineer stamped plans for review. These are required as part of the Pool Permit approval process. Please submit these plans to your PHI for review.
