Tried African cuisine for the first time and so good 😋. The assorted and catfish soups were full of flavour, and the grilled fish was incredibly tasty.

This was my first time trying African food, so I went in with an open mind. Unfortunately, I didn’t really enjoy the dish I ordered. I tried the Nigerian Shawarma, and it was made with hotdog and was very oily, which wasn’t what I expected at all. That said, the staff did their best and were trying to be helpful, and the environment and service were acceptable. It just wasn’t the right food experience for me personally.

Food was great. If you love coconut rice, you'll love theirs. At first we weren't sure about the place because it was empty. We gave it a chance because it had 4 stars on yelp. We ordered the coconut rice main dish with chicken and plantains and side orders of fish, jollof rice, beef as we weren't that hungry but mainly didn't know what to expect. To our surprise everything we ordered including the mango drink was good, nay great.

During our return from Banff, we chose to dine at Afrofusion for lunch to sample their African-inspired cuisine. The absence of visual menu aids and the staff's limited guidance complicated the selection process. Nevertheless, we opted for their Signature Jollof rice. While the subjective nature of taste makes it difficult to provide a definitive assessment, the portion size was notably small, and the price point was relatively high.

Sorry only 1 photo dish, it was all so good we just started eating! This was the only one that made it home. And a longer review as this place deserves it! I was so happy to find this spot in Kamloops. Clean, unpretentious, warm, and welcoming. I didn't catch chef's name, but her food game is amazing for where we are. Such a hidden gem! We got quite the diaspora of food. The staff were very helpful in helping adjust the dishes to suit individual spice needs: The grilled fish got the sauce on the side for the spice-averse. She didn't need the spice sauce at all. She usually asks for help to finish her meals, but this time, she quietly ate it all herself so we didn't notice that she didn't share! 😝 The Spicy Soup (5 /5 chillies) was nicely seasoned, flavourful and perfectly spicy (he said it could be even more spicy, but he's crazy. We all thought it was spicy enough!). He had it with goat, and that elevated it to the next level. By the end, the bowl was spotless and so were the bones! Shawarma fries (chicken) is a must try! More like chili fries with cheese than a poutine (no "gravy"!), but instead of chili, you have chicken in a slight sauce with cheese, if that makes sense. Ofada (Nigerian rice dish) was spot on, it was nutty, aromatic, and filling. Food coma! Okro stew with plantain fufu: get the water bowl and napkins out! Eating it how it should be eaten: by HAND! The fufu was nice, soft, and bouncy. It had a nice, light flavour. Everyone has fufu preferences. Here, it was a little on the stickier side compared to some other Afro cuisine preferences. It was hard to roll in the hand as it stuck to my fingers so I didn't roll it, just pulled it off the "bun" in ball pieces and it the job. The okro stew was spot on, absolute okra goodness, everything what stewed okra should be (if you've eaten okra, you know the texture I'm talking about!) I got the mixed meat, and the beef and tripe tasted amazing! I would have liked the meat pieces to be cut slightly smaller as it was difficulty to eat by hand easily for myself, but if you're using utensils it should be no problem. The 2/5 spiciness was just right for me, where the spice didn't distract from the earthy flavours. I had to take leftovers home as it was filling for me. If I had finished it, I'd have to be rolled out the door! 🤣 If you like spice and want a new food adventure, this place is it! All in all, I would definitely go again. Next time, a 7 out of 5 chillies Spice goat stew for him, and Egusi for me!

I had a fantastic experience at this African cuisine restaurant! I tried the beef ribs, fish, jollof rice, and a few of their drinks—and everything was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. The beef ribs were the absolute standout—tender, juicy, and packed with rich, smoky flavor that really stole the show. The fish was fresh and well-seasoned, and the jollof rice had that authentic spicy kick with just the right texture. The drinks were refreshing and paired perfectly with the meal. The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more dishes!

We were on our way from Saskatoon to Vancouver and stopped by Kamloops. Looked for Halal food around and although there were a few, this place stood out as it’s a cuisine I personally wanted to try out. And this place was so worth it. The server was so friendly, welcoming and enthusiastic and recommended us what to try. Went with the Beef Suya Jollof Rice and it was so good, all my friends had other different things and everyone enjoyed everything on the menu. Funny enough, as I write this, we’re going to stop there again for another meal on our way back to Saskatoon! 100% recommend!

I tried the chicken legs and thighs. So it was fairly prices and good taste. If someone wants to eat heavy meal with low price the 4 thighs cost only 19$ with one sides corn or fries or other options.
