      • The concentration of the bleach solution was 500 ppm. Please ensure the concentration of the bleach solution is 1000 ppm until the outbreak is over. The operator prepared a fresh solution that tested 1000 ppm.

    • 03. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Critical)?
      • 1. Chemicals, including toilet cleaner, were stored on the floor in the staff bathrooms. The staff bathroom was not equipped with a childproof lock, allowing potential child access.Remove chemicals from areas accessible to children or consider installing a childproof lock.2. In the Octopus room, hazardous chemicals were stored under the sink in an unlocked cabinet.The operator locked the cabinet during the inspection. Ensure all cabinets containing hazardous chemicals remain locked at all times.3. Push pins were being used for the bulletin board in the Duck room.Please remove push pins and ensure they are not being used inside the classrooms, especially for rooms 3 years and younger.

      • 1. Fabric diapering mats with foam underlay were noted in the Dolphin room and Alligator room. Please discard diapering mats that cannot be disinfected between use. The operator stated they plan to install new diapering tables.
    • 09. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) available in suitable location(s), and properly stocked with handwashing supplies?
      • 1. The handwashing sink connected to the Lions room is not operational.Please repair the handwashing sink.
    • 19. Are indoor play areas and equipment sufficient and being properly maintained to ensure client safety (Critical)?
      • 1. Water tables/sensory tables with metal water valves are accessible to children. This can lead to a potential finger injury. The water tables were noted in the following areas:- Octopus room, Tiger room, Frog room, Caterpillar roomPlease add a protective cover or fitting to prevent children from sticking their fingers inside the valve.
    • 20. Are indoor play areas and equipment sufficient and being properly maintained to ensure client safety (Non-Critical)?
      • 1. Octopus room: There are broken seashells with jagged edges noted in one of the cabinets.Please discard any broken seashell pieces.2. There were foam building blocks that were in disrepair and have bite marks in the following areas:- Lion room, Duck roomPlease discard any building blocks that are in disrepair.
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Non-Critical)?
      • 1. Parent provided milk is being stored in the fridge located in the Tiger room. There is no thermometer inside the fridge to ensure it maintains 4 degrees C or less.Please place a thermometer inside the fridge.

      • 1. A couple of the bleach bottles are discoloured. This may be due to degradation of bleach or contamination.Please replace the bottles and ensure the bleach is not expired.
    • 17. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Critical)?
      • 1. The bleach sanitizer for Tiger Room and Bear Room were tested and measured 0 ppm.Please ensure 100 ppm chlorine bleach is in the sanitizer bottles.
