- Ensure a food-grade sanitizer is being used for food grade surfaces. The Multi-Quat sanitizer currently being used in the kitchen is not approved for food-contact surfaces unless a potable water rinse is completed after use. The facility has a bleach solution available that can be used for sanitizing food-contact surfaces. Prepare the solution by mixing 1/2 teaspoon of regular household bleach per 1 litre of water. Prepare the solution fresh daily. This mixture is a 100 ppm chlorine sanitizer that can be sprayed onto food-contact surfaces and allowed to air dry without rinsing.
