      • A cabinet storing arts and craft supplies and ingredients lacked a lock in the out of school room. The out of school room was observed being used by non-napping daycare children. The facility supervisor placed a lock on the cabinet during the inspection. Ensure that children are protected from potential hazards.
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Non-Critical)?
      • A cabinet door in the daycare room was in disrepair. Facility operators used duck tape to temporarily repair the door and blocked child access using a stable shelf. Repair the cabinet door to ensure that all hazards to children are reduced.

    • 08. Is this facility properly constructed (Non-Critical)?
      • Right wall at the entrance of the facility was in disrepair; paint was peeling off the wall and holes were observed. Ensure all surfaces are smooth, impervious to moisture and easy to clean.Operator stated that she was in contact with the school board (as the facility is located on school property)and maintenance will repair the wall once school is back in session.
    • 21. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Critical)?
      • Hot tap water in the staff washroom was measured greater than 49C. Operators stated this staff washroom is used by children ages grade 1 and above under supervision of staff. Lower hot tap water temperatures that are accessible to children to prevent scalding or water burns.
