      • No records of pest monitoring were available on site. AHS template, pest control checklist, was provided to the operator during the inspection. There was no evidence of pest activity observed during the inspection.Ensure that pest monitoring is completed monthly with records kept on site.

    • 13. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) accessible to food handlers, located in suitable areas, and stocked with appropriate hand washing supplies?
      • Hand washing sink was not supplied with soap at the time of inspection. Inspector found a liquid soap in the storage room and placed it next to the hand washing sink.Ensure that all hand washing sinks are supplied with soap and paper towel to allow thorough hand washing.
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • The weather stripping on the back exit door was noted to be in disrepair.Ensure that all doors to the exterior of the building are sealed with weather stripping in good repair to prevent pest entry.

    • 09. Are chemicals stored and handled in a safe manner?
      • Two spray bottles were noted to be unlabelled. Operator labelled the bottles during inspection. Ensure that all chemical containers are adequately labelled to indicate the content and prevent misuse of hazardous material.
    • 10. Are food temperatures during storage and processing being controlled to maximize food safety?
      • The thermometers placed in refrigerators were not in working order. Ensure that all coolers are equipped with internal thermometers in good repair to allow regular monitoring of storage temperature.
    • 22. Are utensils and equipment maintained in a condition and a manner that ensures the safe handling of food?
      • The mechanical dishwasher is not able to properly clean the dishes used in the establishment due to the fact that the detergent is not connected to be dispensed properly during the wash cycle. Staff notified the health inspector that they are currently washing dishes in the current 1 compartment sink and then sanitizing in the hot water cycle of the dishwasher. Update (November 20, 2023): The detergent and rinse chemical are available on site, but not connected to the mechanical dishwasher. Operators will continue to practice manual dishwashing with high temperature sanitization step in the dishwasher. Temperature reading at plate level was satisfactory.
