- Observation: chemical sanitizer bottle was not properly labelled. Public Health Significance: Improperly labelled chemical sanitizers pose a significant public health risk because food handlers may not be able to identify the product, its concentration, or its intended use.
- Corrective Action: Ensure all chemical sanitizer containers are clearly labelled with the product name and intended use.
- 401 - Critical Adequate handwashing stations not available for employees [s. 21(4)]
- Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Observed used dishes placed inside the handwashing sink at the time of inspection. (Public Health Significance) Hand washing is an important practice to ensure food are protected from cross contamination from other previously handled foods or contact surfaces.Handwashing sinks are required to remain clean, accessible, and dedicated solely to hand hygiene. Placing dirty dishes or equipment in a handwashing sink can contaminate the sink basin, obstruct proper handwashing, and increase the risk of spreading harmful bacteria to food, food contact surfaces, and staff hands.
- Corrective Action: Ensure the hand wash station is accessible at all times and used only as a hand wash station whenever food is being prepared. Soap and paper towel in dispensers and hot and cold running water must be provided to facilitate proper hand washing.
