      • Push pins were in the infant room and toddler room. They were secured on a bullentin board.Overall we do not encourage push pins in childcare facilities. They should not be kept over play or sleeping areas. If they are kept in rooms where infants or mouthing toddlers are then push pins must be added to a daily safety checklist to ensure they are always secured and accounted for.

    • 03. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Critical)?
      • The laundry room between the toddler and pre-school room was left open. The door was later closed and has a sign indicating that it is to remain closed.
    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • In the infant room the chlorine disinfectant had 0ppm. Ensure it is at least 100ppm. Use test strips to verify concentration.
    • 07. Is this facility properly constructed (Critical)?
      • The washroom between the preschool and toddler did not have paper towels. Corrected during inspection.
    • 22. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Non-Critical)?
      • -Hot water in the infant, preschool & toddler ranged from 18 to 26C after running for one minute. -The temperatures in the OSC and the washroom outside the door were 41-42C (good)The ideal maximum water temperature in a child care is between 38 to 43C but not above 49C.By April 28, 2025 ensure the minimum hot water temperature are at least 30C to help facilitate proper handwashing.

      • The fridge for parent provided food was at 8C.Ensure that the fridge is at 4C.

      • There was a cat in the preschool room. If you wish to have a cat within the program then you require written approval from AHS. In my email i wil attach the information and application sheet.

      • The fridge in the baby room was at 10CEnsure the fridge is operating at 4C or less.

      • The maximum hot water reached was 58C. The hot water temperature of a fixture which children can access cannot go above 54 and should be below the reccommendation maximum of 49C.
