   • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
     • Sticky traps are placed throughout the kitchen and pantry.A dead rodent was caught on the trap and removed by the manager during the inspection. Small rodent droppings were noted on some of the shelves and floor in the pantry and utility closet. Recommendation: Consider doing monthly checks on corners and floors for pest activity or before major events.

   • 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
     • Some of the kitchen lights are missing their protective covers, for the fluorescent bulbs.Corrective actionYou have some choices, they are:a) install protective covers that are the same as the original covers, ORb) install plastic sleeves over the individual bulbs, ORc) convert to LED lighting, as these bulbs are already in a plastic cover, and therefore will not shatter like a fluorescent bulb can.
