      • Chlorine bleach was in use as a sanitizer. Test strips were not available. Ensure test strips are available and used to verify sanitizer concentration each time a solution is prepared. If solutions are used over multiple days test every day the solution is in use.
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • Pest control records were not available at time of inspection.Conduct a pest control inspection at least once per month and document results. Records must be available for inspection.Pest control self checklist sent via email.

      • Ladies washroom did not have paper towel in the dispenser and several stalls did not have toilet paper.It was reported that there was an event there over the weekend.Ensure the washroom is cleaned and stocked after each event.
    • 19. Does the facility have a valid permit and does the facility operate in compliance with the conditions of that permit, or is the facility awaiting approval prior to operation?
      • Current permit was not posted.Ensure the current food handling permit is posted at all times.

      • Bottles of water were stored on the floor in the walk in cooler.A milk crate containing plastic knives was on the floor in the walk in cooler.Ensure all food and items associated with food (eg utensils, packaging) are stored at least 6 inches off the floor.Items were moved off the floor during inspection.Discard the plastic knives.
    • 10. Are food temperatures during storage and processing being controlled to maximize food safety?
      • A thermometer to monitor food temperatures could not be located during inspection.Ensure a functional probe thermometer (digital is recommended) is available to monitor food temperatures.

      • The walk in cooler measured 8.4C during inspection.No high risk items were in the cooler during inspection.Ensure the cooler is capable of keeping food at 4C or less.

      • The soap dispenser at the hand sink was empty.Soap was replaced during inspection.Ensure liquid soap in a dispenser is available at all times at the handwashing sink.

      • The three glass door display cooler is not in good repair. Please don't store any high risk food items in the cooler until the cooler is repaired or serviced. No high risk food items stored in the cooler at the time of inspection.
