    4 infractions

    • 101 - Plans/construction/alterations not in accordance with the Regulation [s. 3; s. 4]
      • Observation: Several ceiling tiles in the washrooms were water stained and sagging. The operator mentioned that the facility has several roof leaks and it is common for the ceiling tiles to be wet. Wet ceiling tiles can crumble and fall on patrons.
      • Corrective Action: Ensure that the ceiling is maintained and cannot be a hazard to patrons.
    • 301 - Critical Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not maintained in sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
      • Observation: The sprayer head on the three compartment sink had grease build up that could promote microbe growth and transfer to clean dishware.
      • Corrective Action: Ensure that the food equipment at the facility is cleaned and sanitized to prevent the contamination of dishware and food.
    • 308 - Repeat Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces are not in good working order [s. 16(b)]
      • Observation: There were several pots and pans with chipped and flaking surfaces. Poorly maintained cookware can leach into food and cause food toxicity.
      • Corrective Action: Ensure that all food equipment in use at the faciltiy are in good working order and have surfaces that are easy to clean.
    • 309 - Chemicals, cleansers, & similar agents stored or labeled improperly [s. 27]
      • Observation: There was a spray bottle in the kitchen that was not labelled properly. It was unclear what chemical was in the bottle as a chlorine test strip indicated 0 ppm. A spray bottle was labelled as sanitizer on the janitor cart in the room with the water well. It was unclear what chemical was in the bottle. Improper labelling can lead to safety risks due to incompatibility and improper use.
      • Corrective Action: Ensure that all chemicals used at the facility have the appropriate labels for safe use.
