    • 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
      • Carpets were observed on the floors at the open food handling areas such as areas used for making coffee and scooping ice cream and also at the areas for dishwashing. Non absorbent, durable and easily cleanable floor coverings must be installed at the above areas.

      • No back splash was observed on the wall behind the 3-compartment sink area. Ensure that back splash be installed at the above noted area.

      • The food store has been operated without a valid food handling permit. Food handling permit application was emailed to the operator on the inspection day and the operator was required to complete it and send it back to our office as soon as possible.

      • Foods were stored on the floor directly in the storage room. Foods displayed on the shelving units in the store were observed messy and disorganized. Cleaning and organizing are required to store and display foods in a clean and sanitary condition. Foods must be stored away from non food items and must be stored 6'' above the floor to ease floor cleaning.
