    • 04. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Non-Critical)?
      • Loose painter's tape was observed around the baseboard of the Nursery 1 room and accessible to infants.Please remove the painter's tape. Ensure painting and renovations are complete before using the room for childcare purposes.
    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • A microwave was observed to be used in the diaper changing area.The operator was instructed to relocate the microwave to an area away from diaper changing.

      • 1) The paint from the wooden diaper changing stations located in Nursery 1, and Toddler 2 were observed to chipped and peeling, making the surfaces rough, absorbent and difficult to clean.Please repair the wooden diaper changing stations to ensure the surfaces are smooth and easily cleanable.2) The straps from the diaper changing station located in the Nursery 1 room was observed to be dirty and covered in stains.Please thoroughly clean and disinfect the straps.

      • The chlorine solution throughout the facility was tested and found to have varying concentrations ranging from 50 ppm to 1000 ppm, which are either acceptable, too low or too high.The operator was instructed to remake the chlorine solution for every bottle to ensure a consistent concentration of 100–200 ppm for adequate disinfection.

      • 1) The floor rugs located in the Nursery 1, and Preschool 1 rooms were observed to be stained and covered in loose debris.Please deep clean the rugs.2) Duct tape covered in dirt was observed around the floor registers located in the jungle room.Please remove the duct tape for easy cleaning and replace the floor registers with ones that are secured to the floor.

      • 1. Moisture accumulation under both sinks in OOSC washroom.- Find the source of moisture and repair.2. Nursery: Ceiling above high chairs was damaged. - Ensure that the celling is in good repair and easy to clean.

A water leak was repaired already. - Have the damaged area assess by a professional for mould. - Remediate by damaged area.2. Moisture accumulation under both sinks in OOSC washroom.- Find the source of moisture and repair.3. Nursery: Wall was damaged behind a toy shelf. - Ensure that walls are in good repair and easy to clean. 4. Preschool 1: Moisture accumulation in a cupboard under a washroom sink-Find source of moisture and repair. 5. Toddler 2: Surface on a changing mat was damaged.-Ensure that change table is moisture resistant and easy to clean.

      • 1. Celling vents in washrooms and several classrooms were very dusty. - Clean the vents and the ventilation system.

      • 1. Nursery: Rocking chair was dirty and need regular laundering.2. No bins for mouthed toys in infant and toddler rooms were available. - Ensure that mouthed toys are stored in a designated bin to prevent pathogen spread.3. Accumulation of debris on some big toys in preschool rooms. - Clean regularly. 4. Toddler 2: Lid on a sensory table was damaged. - Repair so the surface is moisture resistant and easy to clean.
