    • 22. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Non-Critical)?
      • The water temperature in all sinks throughout the facility was measured at 10°C at the time of inspection. This is below the required minimum water temperature of 30°C and exceeds allowable variance from the acceptable range of 30°C to 54°C (recommended 49°C). The facility must ensure that water temperature is consistently maintained within the required range to support effective handwashing and to align with health and safety standards. Outstanding

    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • - The facility didn't have test strips for testing the bleach solution prepared for the diapering procedure. Later in the day the EPH received a phone call and an email from the director of the facility indicating the purchase of 2 test strips bottles with the receipt. CDI- Toddler room: Using the same sink to wash hands after diaper procedures and for hand wash before eating and cleaning bibs and toys. The toddler room has 2 sinks and a separate washroom, Use the washroom sinks, to wash hands before lunch and snack time, and the other sinks close by the diaper change to be ONLY dedicated for that purpose.
    • 09. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) available in suitable location(s), and properly stocked with handwashing supplies?
      • - The handwashing sink dedicated for diaper‑changing procedures in the infant room was missing a soap dispenser at the time of inspection. The director supplied a soap dispenser during the visit; however, it is required that each sink have its own dedicated soap dispenser. This is necessary to prevent contamination between sinks used for different purposes—specifically, the sink used for milk‑formula preparation and toy washing must remain separate from the diaper‑change handwashing station. The facility must ensure that proper supplies are consistently available at both sinks. CDI- In the toddler room, staff were observed using the same sink for multiple purposes, including:Handwashing after diaper‑changing proceduresHandwashing before eatingCleaning bibs and toysThe toddler room contains two sinks in addition to a separate washroom, which provides adequate infrastructure to support proper segregation of use. To prevent cross‑contamination, the following practices must be implemented:Washroom sinks must be used for handwashing before meals and snacks.The sink located near the diaper‑changing station must be dedicated exclusively to diaper‑related handwashing and must not be used for food‑related handwashing or cleaning bibs/toys.The facility must ensure staff adhere to appropriate sink designation and hygiene protocols at all times.
