    • 21. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Critical)?
      • 1) The hot water in the Preschool Room, Room 4 and Room 5 bathroom sinks is 60C. Action shall be taken to lower the hot temperature. The maximum temperature out of the hot water facet shall be lower than 54C.Oct 31 update - Parts have been ordered and a plumber is schedule to install a mixing valve to ensure temperatures under 54C can be reached.

    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • 1) The log chair in the pre-school room has a large crack which cannot be cleaned. The log chair shall be repaired (crack filled) or removed.2)The floor fan has a build up of dust/debris. Action shall be taken to clean the fan to prevent debris from falling/flying off when turned on.3)In Room 5, the blue side of the diaper mat have a crack present. The blue side of the mat shall be sealed, and the other side of the mat used.
    • 20. Are indoor play areas and equipment sufficient and being properly maintained to ensure client safety (Non-Critical)?
      • Toys are not being cleaned properly. Toys are being sprayed with a disinfectant without being washed. Toys shall be cleaned by:1. Wash with detergent and warm water.2. Rinse detergent away with clean, warm water.3. Wipe, spray, or keep item submerged in a sink for 2 minutes in an approved disinfectants 4. After sanitizing step, let the surface or item air dry.5. Toys that are washed by sink method, and are likely to be mouthed should have a potable water rinse.

      • 1) The hot water in the Preschool Room, Room 4 and Room 5 bathroom sinks is 60C. Action shall be taken to lower the hot temperature. The maximum temperature out of the hot water facet shall be lower than 54C.
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Non-Critical)?
      • 1) The cleaning plan for the rooms are generic and does not reflect all the areas in each room. The facility shall review thier cleaning plans to ensure it is reflective of the equipment in each room.

    • 08. Is this facility properly constructed (Non-Critical)?
      • The transition strip in room 5 is missing a piece which can cause a tripping hazard. The transition piece shall repaired. This is scheduled to be repaired on March 1, 2024.
    • 31. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Critical)?
      • 4. In room 5, a bathroom is present with a lockable door, but the key to unlock the door is not present. Action shall be taken to locate the key and store it in a nearby location or replace the door handle with a non-locking handle. This is required to be addressed before children are cared for in this room.
    • 31. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Critical)?
      • The stump chairs in Room 5 have large cracks that cannot be cleaned/sanitized, and pose a entrapment hazard for fingers. Action shall be taken to remove the chairs or repair them.

      • The transition strip in room 5 is missing a piece which can cause a tripping hazard. The transition piece shall repaired
    • 09. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) available in suitable location(s), and properly stocked with handwashing supplies?
      • In room 7, a soap dispenser is missing from the bathroom. Liquid soap shall be provided in the bathroom.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • 1) In Room 1, electrical sockets are exposed. Action shall be taken to plug the electrical sockets to prevent accidental exposure.2)In Room 7, an outlet cover is required to present accidental exposure.
    • 20. Are indoor play areas and equipment sufficient and being properly maintained to ensure client safety (Non-Critical)?
      • 1) Scissors were held in an area where kids can reach them. Action shall be taken to move the scissors so the room supervisors can control the use of them in Room 5.
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Non-Critical)?
      • 1. In Room 5, various plants were present, but the operator could not identify the species. The operator shall identify the species to ensure the plants are not poisonous. 2. A potted catus was hung with yarn, which did not appear strong enough to support the plant. A more robust plant holder shall be used, or the plant moved to a new location.3. A cleaning plan/schedule shall be made for Rooms 1,5 and 74. In room 5, a bathroom is present with a lockable door, but the key to unlock the door is not present. Action shall be taken to locate the key and store it in a nearby location or replace the door handle with a non-locking handle.

    • 08. Is this facility properly constructed (Non-Critical)?
      • The light table in the back room that is being staged is made from barewood. Action shall be taken to seal the wood to allow staff to clean and sanitize the table.
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Non-Critical)?
      • The hot water pipes for the hot water baseboard heaters are exposed. Action shall be taken to cover/protect the pipes to prevent children touching the exposed pipes.

    • 08. Is this facility properly constructed (Non-Critical)?
      • Area of wall just above the floor boards in the toddler room is damaged (paint chipping). Walls should be appropriate to the area and maintained in good condition (smooth & non-absorbant). Ensuring maintenance of walls makes them easier to clean and sanitize. Please have damaged area blocked from being accessible to toddlers or have wall repainted. Operator indicated this will be address over the Nov 4 weekend.
