- Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION):
- 1) Cut watermelon on display outside the store on ice measured 17C
- 2) Bakery cooler just outside storeroom doors measured 10C on bottom shelves (top 2 shelves are 4C or colder). Air from vent near the front measures 4C.
- Corrective Action(s):
- 1) Cut fruit needs to be stored at 4C or colder. On hot days (ex. today is 29C ambient temp, outside), recommend keeping watermelon inside store. Ice needs to be replenished frequently and surround the watermelon (not just under the watermelon)
- 2) Repair or adjust cooler so the air blowing from the vents keeps the items at 4C or colder.
