      • Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) In walk-in cooler, raw shrimp in container stored above ready to eat foods and produce. (Public Health significance) - Contact with and dripping fluids from raw foods can contaminate other items and lead to food borne illness.
      • Corrective Action: Store raw meats below and isolated from ready to eat items and produce.
    • 209 - Repeat Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]
      • Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Scoops left in dry foods in manner that will contaminate food. (Public Health Significance) Improper scoop storage exposes items to bare hand contact and potential contamination.
      • Corrective Action: Store scoops so that foods are not exposed to the handles or bare hand contact. Store food scoops in a sanitary manner and clean and sanitize them regularly.
    • 312 - Items not required for food premises operation being stored on the premises [s. 18]
      • Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Personal items (cell phones, water bottles) stored on the same shelf as dry foods. This could cause cross contamination which could lead to serious sickness.
      • Corrective Action: All personal items as well as non-food items should be stored separate and away from food items/equipment/utensils.

      • Observation: Preparation coolers were not able to keep food at 4°C or colder. (Public health significance) - food stored within the temperature danger zone (Over 4°C and under 60°C) promotes exponential growth of food poisoning microorganisms, potentially causing food borne illnesses.
      • Corrective Action: Operator to adjust the temperature of the preparation coolers at 4°C or colder.
    • 209 - Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]
      • Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Personal belongings were found to be placed on top of prepacked foods in dry storage area. (Public health significance) - personal belongings might be soiled. Keeping soiled materials separated from food could minimize contamination to food and food package surfaces.
      • Corrective Action: Operator immediately removed personal belongings.

      • Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Food is kept in condition that allows for cross contamination.
      • Corrective Action: The bowls of salad were discarded. Employee on site is aware that food should be stored in a manner that protects it from contamination.
    • 502 - Repeat In operator’s absence, no staff on duty has FOODSAFE Level 1 or equivalent [s. 10(2)]
      • Observation: None of the staff at the time of the inpsection had Food Safe training. This is a repeated violation from previous report in 2021.
      • Corrective Action: Ensure at least one staff has Food Safe Level 1 during operating hours of the facility.

    • 205 - Critical Cold potentially hazardous food stored/displayed above 4 °C. [s. 14(2)]
      • Observation: Internal temperature of cooked Quinoa measured 15 degrees Celsius due to malfunctioning of the unit. Ambient temperature of the unit measured 10.5 degrees Celsius. Affected product was discarded.
      • Corrective Action: Ensure to move foods that were not held in the cooler for over four hours to another cooler and get the unit repaired.
    • 205 - Critical Cold potentially hazardous food stored/displayed above 4 °C. [s. 14(2)]
      • Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Internal temperature of chopped lettuce and diced melons measured 21 and 19 degrees Celsius respectively due to being left at room temperature for an extended period of time. Affected food products were discarded.
      • Corrective Action: Ensure that all cold potentially hazardous foods are kept refrigerated at degrees Celsius or lower.

      • Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Observed employee drinks stored directly above food handling utensils. Drinks could spill and contaminate food and food contact surfaces.
      • Corrective Action: Ensure that employees food and drinks are stored at a designated area and away or below food and food contact surfaces.
    • 502 - In operator’s absence, no staff on duty has FOODSAFE Level 1 or equivalent [s. 10(2)]
      • Observation: No staff on duty has a food safety certificate during inspection.
      • Corrective Action: Ensure that atleast one staff on duty with a food safety training certificate is available per shift.
