      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): As per the staff on site, the blenders are washed through the dishwasher at the end of each shift. Staff was explained about the proper method and frequency of sanitizing the blenders at this time.
      • Corrective Action(s): REPEAT VIOLATION. Blenders must be washed and sanitized every 2-4 hours as discussed at this time. Ensure to have all staff properly trained regarding the sanitizing method/frequency of blenders.

      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): As per staff, the blenders were rinsed with hot water only prior to opening for the day. Staff was advised to have all blenders washed in the dishwasher at this time.
      • Corrective Action(s): Ensure the blenders are washed and sanitized in the dishwasher every 2 hours. Ensure to have all staff properly trained regarding this.

      • Corrective Action(s): Ensure to have all droppings removed and affected areas sanitized using 1000ppm chlorine (20ml bleach:980ml water). Continue to monitor the situation.

      • Observation: Rodent droppings were observed in the following areas:
      • > Dry storage area - in the corners between shelves and along the perimeter of walls underneath shelves leading to the back exit door
      • > Staff area - under the desk
      • > Standup freezer/cooler - in the corner behind the freezer and under the wired shelf on the floor next to the cooler
      • > Front serving area in the white dry storage shelves next to the handsink
      • > Customer and staff washrooms
      • Corrective Action(s): Remove droppings. Clean and sanitize the floors in these areas with a strong bleach solution.

      • Observation: One tiled baseboard in the dry storage section has fallen off. 3 ceiling panels directly above the standup freezer and standup cooler in the back of the facility appears to be water damaged and no longer smooth and non-porous.
      • Corrective Action(s): All surfaces (walls, floors and ceilings) must be constructed of smooth and non-porous material to facilitate proper cleaning.
      • Replace the tiled baseboard and clean/sanitize or replace the ceiling panels.

      • Observation: - Debris and grime noted along edge of floor under prep tables and handsink in front of premises.
      • - Debris, hair noted to be collecting along edges/corners of floor in back of premises
      • Corrective Action(s): - Pull out moveable equipment and scrub floor to remove all grime and debris in front of premises.
      • - Clean along all edges/corners of floor in back of premises. Ensure these areas are being cleaned thoroughly and frequently enough to prevent debris and grime from accumulating. To be corrected by: 05-Dec-2023

      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): - High temperature dishwasher was not turned on and not in use at the time of the inspection. Staff reported dishes are washed and sanitized in the two compartment sink and dishwasher is not being used. Staff were aware of proper dishwashing procedures/steps; however, several dishes were noted to only be partially immersed in sanitizer solution as sink was overfilled with dishes. Additionally on drying rack/shelf, wet dishes (stainless inserts) were noted to be stacked while wet.
      • Corrective Action(s): - Use high temperature dishwasher to wash and sanitize dishes. Approval of food service establishment was based on use of dishwasher and not manual dishwashing.
      • - Corrective action taken at time of the inspection: Dishwasher was turned on at time of inspection and used for dishes once heated.

      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): - No liquid soap in washroom designated for staff use
      • Corrective Action(s): - Supply liquid soap to staff washroom. Ensure liquid soap and paper towel (or air dryer) are always present in washroom for handwashing. Hands are to washed in washroom and upon return to food preparation/service area.
      • - Corrective action taken: Liquid soap (in squeeze bottle) was supplied to washroom at time of inspection. To be replaced with pump style dispenser.

      • Both food and water make excellent breeding grounds for pests. Although the facility was pest free during the inspection it is important to maintain high sanitation to prevent pest activity. This includes water and food sources.
