    • 209 - Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]
      • Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Various implements used a scoops are left in product for ongoing use including ingredient bins, ice machines, ready to eat product. Scoop found in the rice at time of inspection. (Public Health Significance): Improper scoops and scoop storage exposes items to bare hand contact and potential contamination.
      • Corrective Action: Store scoops so that foods are not exposed to the handles or bare hand contact. Store food scoops in a sanitary manner and clean and sanitize them regularly. Operator removed the scoop at time of inspection.

    • 209 - Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]
      • Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Scoop for flour was found buried in the flour container. (Public Health significance) - Scoop handles must be kept free from the product to prevent hand contact and contamination.
      • Corrective Action: Operator removed the scoop and put it in the sink to be washed immediately. Ensure that the scoop is stored so that the handle is kept free from the product.
    • 302 - Critical Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized [s. 17(2)]
      • Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Bottle labelled as "sanitizer" contained a product for cleaning that does not have an active sanitizing property. (Public Health Significance) Cleaning and sanitizing are not interchangeable terms. Cleaning solutions will remove grease and debris. A sanitizing solution is needed to destroy bacteria on surfaces.
      • Corrective Action: Operator created an appropriate bleach based sanitizing solutions with 200ppm concentration. Operator also relabeled the cleaning solution as "cleaner".
    • 315 - Refrigeration units and hot holding equipment lack accurate thermometers [s. 19(2)]
      • Observation: Refrigerator located in the common area was lacking an accurate thermometer.
      • Corrective Action: Obtain and equip a thermometer to this refrigeration unit. the thermometer must be accurate within 1°C.
