- F2.2 Are proper pest control measures in place on the premises?
- Observation(s): The walk-in cooler door that opens to the exterior has edges/seal in disrepair that would allow for the easy access of pests into the cold storage facility. Doors within the cold storage facility can lead into the manufacturing space. These doors also have degrees of disrepair and/or are kept partially opened and can thus allow the movement of pests between these spaces. Please repair all openings to the exterior to exclude potential entry of pests.

- F2.5 Are the premises and equipment properly maintained and operated in a sanitary manner (i.e. ongoing maintenance)?
- Observation(s): 1. At the time of inspection, there was a lot of accumulated moisture (stated to be from a recent floor wash) in the two walk-in cold storage rooms/compartments. Floors appear to be be poorly sloped for natural draining and moisture is noted to be accumulated over floor drains (slight plug?). Please clear all floor drains to ensure rapid drainage. Operational means must be taken to remove accumulated moisture after washing floors. Moisture must not be allowed to accumulate and remain. Only one drain was noted at the time. Please ensure drains are not covered by crates. Long-term measures should be reviewed to reslope floors to provide better natural drainage. 2. Many milk crates containing milk cartons/bottles etc. are sitting directly on the floor. Ensure all crates are lifted off the floor and placed on risers. Products on the floor can be easily contaminated, especially with washing and water sweeping processes that occur within this cold room. Risers should be made of materials impervious to moisture--wooden risers should be avoided as they will absorb moisture leading to unsanitary conditions. 3. A moderate amount of black accumulation is noted on the ceiling of the cold store rooms. Clean all built up organic/inorganic material. 4. The lower wall portion around the doorway separating the two cold compartments is missing coving and is black in color (possibly from buildup). Pressure wash to clean thoroughly and install durable, easy to clean coving in at the wall/floor junction area to facilitate proper sanitation. Note that measures should also be taken to replace wooden shelving within these storage units to ones that are impervious to moisture and easy to clean. The paint on the walk-in door leading to the interior has moderate level of chipping, exposing bare wood. Please refinish at your earliest opportunity to create an moisture proof barrier.
