- 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
- The facility does not have any written pest control records. Corrective action: Written pest control records must be maintained on a monthly basis from visits by a licensed pest control operator or by self-monitoring. A copy of a pest control checklist will be provided to you alongside this report.
- 18. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this food facility (Non-Critical)?
- In the grilling area, there was a piece of soiled/contaminated cardboard placed underneath a pot that is used as a grease receptacle. This creates an unsanitary condition that can attract pests or lead to cross-contamination. Corrective action: Another material that is smooth, durable, easily cleanable, and impervious to moisture must be used under the pot going forward, or the cardboard must be replaced at least once per day.
- 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
- The bare wood surfaces in the drive thru area need to be rendered smooth, durable, easily cleanable, and impervious to moisture.
- 22. Are utensils and equipment maintained in a condition and a manner that ensures the safe handling of food?
- One of the prep table cutting boards has a substantial number of grooves and scratches that are quite deep, which hinders effective cleaning and sanitizing. Cross-contamination of food might occur as a result. Corrective action: This cutting board must be resurfaced or replaced to render it in a smooth, durable, and easily cleanable condition.
