- 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
- Some mouse droppings were observed on the floors in the food storage room. The food storage room should be checked for mouse entry points such as holes and gaps. Entry points must be properly sealed off. Deep freezers should be pulled out as there might be more mouse droppings seen at those areas. Foods being stored in this room should be inspected on a regular basis. Affected foods must be disposed of immediately. Mouse droppings must be properly cleaned up and affected areas must be disinfected. Written instructions for mouse dropping clean-up were provided to the manager. Recommend that mouse traps or sticky pads be set up in the food storage room to monitor the situation.
