    • 304 - Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
      • Observation: Minor volume of rat and mouse droppings observed. Rat droppings appear random, possibly due to bay door entry. Droppings observed under shelves at bay doors. Maybe old. Operator stated pest control in bi-weekly.
      • Minor volume of fruit flies noted in production area, especially at double sinks.
      • Corrective Action(s): Make sure bay door area is properly swept daily so pest control can assess and take action as needed.
      • Make sure drains and other potential breeding places are cleaned up daily and where possible chemicals placed to deter breeding.
      • Violation Score: 3
      • 306 - Food premises not maintained in a sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
      • Observation: Several areas of production area space observed with either mould or staganant water/biomat formation. These include the back area where the washing machine is located; the floor and area surrounding the insulated tanks as discussed and noted from previous inspection. Walls becoming increasingly mouldy.
      • Additionally, the shelves at the bay doors should be more frequently cleaned/swept to better evaluate rodent activity coming in/out via these doors and to allow pest control to better locate traps.
      • Many traps (sticky, snap - rat and mouse) throughout production space old, not set, rusty and/or mouldy.
      • Corrective Action(s): Address areas by improving cleaning quality and/or frequency as discussed.
      • Remove traps from facility that no longer function as designed. Have Pest Control replace where warranted.

    • 304 - Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
      • Observation: Rat activity (droppings) noted at oak barrel storage area, especially along wall bordering retail side. Amounts reduce moving further away from area.
      • Mouse activity (droppings) noteable in production area and storage spaces of same.
      • Noted holes in walls that need blocking as discussed.
      • Noted bent, broken or and old traps of various sorts. Many sticky traps older and covered with debris, insects etc.
      • Corrective Action(s): Make sure to inform Pest Control and/or staff of pest holes in walls, especially where accumulations of droppings are noted, and have holes properly blocked as discussed.
      • Make sure Pest Control performs a trap audit throughout facility and replaces traps on regular basis.

      • 306 - Food premises not maintained in a sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
      • Observation: Back of building storage area observed with old accumulations of poison?, and disorganized area.
      • Glycol barrel and surrounding distribution piping observed with significant build up of sludgyu biomat formations.
      • Corrective Action(s): Clean up and remove poison as discussed.
      • Clean up glycol tank and area and make sure staff do so on more regular basis to avoid such biomat build ups.

      • Corrective Action(s): Continue to control/eliminate activity throughout facility
      • Violation Score: 3
      • 306 - Food premises not maintained in a sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
      • Observation: Build up of mouldy sludge-like water around boiler and in CO2 cylinder, including drip pans and floor
      • Corrective Action(s): Perform big clean and increase scheduled cleaning to these areas as discussed - Date to be corrected by: Sept 27/2023
