What these findings mean

Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.

  • Cleaning and sanitizingHigher risk

Anything that touches food, such as cutting boards, dishes and utensils, must be washed, rinsed and sanitized. Inspectors check dishwasher temperatures, sanitizer strength and how wiping cloths are stored. Poor sanitizing lets bacteria survive from one use to the next.

Recorded once on May 19, 2026. For example: Critical Improper Cleaning, Sanitizing of Equipment and Utensils

  • Protecting food from contaminationHigher risk

This covers how food is stored, prepared and displayed: raw meat kept away from ready-to-eat food, food covered and stored off the floor, and nothing dripping or splashing into it. Cross-contamination from raw to cooked food is a direct route for salmonella and E. coli.

Recorded once on May 19, 2026. For example: Food Not Protected - General

  • Building, plumbing and upkeepLower risk

Floors, walls and ceilings must be smooth and clean, with working lighting, ventilation, plumbing, hot and cold water, and washrooms. These are rarely an immediate food-safety risk on their own, but persistent problems can lead to pest or sanitation issues.

Recorded once on May 19, 2026. For example: Improper Construction / Maintenance of Establishment

  • Other findingsLower risk

Findings that do not fit the categories above, such as follow-ups that confirm an earlier violation was corrected, or requirements specific to this type of facility.

Recorded once on May 19, 2026. For example: Improper Sanitary Facilities

  1. Initial

    4 infractions

    • Critical Improper Cleaning, Sanitizing of Equipment and Utensils
      • Spray surface sanitizer registered above 400ppm (exceeding the required range of 200-400ppm quats residuals). This has the potential to cause chemical contamination to foods prepared.
      • Staff refreshed the solution to register at 200ppm. * Ensure to follow manufacturer's instructions on proper dilution.
    • Food Not Protected - General
      • Ice machine had accumulation/dark residues along the dispensing line. Irregular cleaning can allow for microbial growth, which can pose cross contamination concerns - especially since it's ready to eat.
      • Empty the ice machine and clean/sanitize the all contact surfaces thoroughly. * Forward an image of the interior of the machine for confirmation.
    • Improper Sanitary Facilities
      • 2-compartment sink is not equipped with 2 total sink plugs (only 1 available). Both plugs are required to ensure that alternative ware washing can be facilitated.
      • Acquire an additional sink plug and forward photo confirmation to area EHO.
    • Improper Construction / Maintenance of Establishment
      • Live dog was observed entering the kitchen/prep area. The dog bowl and stored foods were also visible. * This can pose cross contamination concerns and allergen risks due to dander.
      • Keep the live animal/dog out of the kitchen. Remove the animal food bowls/supplies away from designated food areas. * Send photo confirmation to area EHO. Comments Routine inspection conducted. Action items: - Submit food safety plan that reflects sous-vide practices. - Update floor plan of the facility to reflect planned pizza preparation area.
