Inspection summary

Ecole Enfantine Preschool has been inspected 4 times by Alberta Health Services (Environmental Public Health) since September 24, 2025. The most recent inspection, on September 28, 2026, found no infractions.

3 of 4 inspections on record found no infractions at all. In the past 12 months there were 3 inspections with 2 infractions recorded. The higher-risk findings here relate to: Handwashing and staff hygiene.

Recent inspections have recorded more infractions than earlier ones, so it is worth reading the latest reports closely.

What these findings mean

Health authorities word their findings differently, so we group them by what they mean for the people in care. Higher-risk findings are the ones that could directly make someone sick, and they matter more here because young children, older adults and people who are unwell are more vulnerable to infection.

  • Handwashing and staff hygieneHigher risk

Hand hygiene is the most important way to stop germs spreading between children, residents and staff. Inspectors check that sinks are stocked and easy to reach, that staff wash their hands when required (for example after diapering or before handling food), and that sick staff stay away from work.

Recorded once on September 24, 2026. For example: Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) available in suitable location(s), and properly stocked with handwashing supplies?

  • Other findingsLower risk

Findings that do not fit the categories above, such as follow-ups that confirm an earlier violation was corrected, or requirements specific to this type of facility.

Recorded once on September 24, 2026. For example: Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Non-Critical)?

    • 09. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) available in suitable location(s), and properly stocked with handwashing supplies?
      • Water temperature at the hand wash station was lukewarm at 20C, which is not considered adequately warm for handwashingPlease ensure that the hand wash station is supplied with an adequate amount of hot and cold running water delivered through a mixing valve to provide warm water at a temperature suitable for effective handwashing. Maintaining appropriate water temperatures encourages proper hand hygiene and helps reduce the risk of illness transmission.Recommendation:Water at the toy-washing sink was observed to be at a warmer temperature; however, the sink is positioned at a height that is not readily accessible to children. A recommendation was made to provide a suitable step stool to allow children safe access to the toy-washing sink for handwashing purposes. Toy washing activities could then be relocated to another sink within the facility to ensure both effective hand hygiene and operational functionality.
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Non-Critical)?
      • The concentration of bleach water solution was more than 200 ppm.Ensure that bleach solution used for sanitizing food contact surface is at 100ppm for effective sanitizationThis was adjusted to between 100ppm.
