      • Staff reported the presence of a bat on the roof. No bats were observed at the time of inspection. The operator must ensure that any bat-related issues are appropriately remediated. It is advised to contact Alberta Bat Management for further guidance and control measures.

      • As the water has not been sampled for 2025, all dishwashing, rinsing, and sanitizing must be conducted using bottled water until acceptable water sample results are submitted.Ensure that tap water is not used for cooking, dishwashing, or drinking. Only bottled water is to be used for these purposes until further notice.
    • 14. Does the facility have an adequate supply of potable hot and cold running water and is the water sampled at required intervals?
      • Water was not sampled for the year 2025. The operator is required to complete water sampling by June 19, 2025. Staff indicated that the cistern is undergoing steam cleaning and that water will be collected for sampling afterward.Until acceptable water sample results are received, tap water must not be used for cooking, dishwashing, or drinking. Only bottled water is to be used for these purposes until further notice.
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • The screen on the exit door is not in good repair. There are visible tears that could allow pests to enter, especially since the exit doors were open at the time of inspection.Ensure that the screens are in good repair to prevent pest from coming into the facility.

    • 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
      • Tape was observed along the sides of the countertop surface. Staff were instructed to remove the tape; however, adhesive residue and debris remain on the work surface.Ensure that all work surfaces are smooth, non-absorbent, and easily cleanable. No tape or similar materials should be present on any food preparation surfaces.

      • Sanitizer test strips are not observed onsite to check the concentration of chlorine sanitizer solution.Obtain chlorine test strips capable of measuring the concentration from 50-200 ppm.

      • The hand wash station was not equipped with hand wash liquid or paper towels.Upon PHI's request, the staff equipped the hand wash sink with hand wash liquid, but no paper towel was provided.
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • No pest control records are available onsite to verify that this facility is being monitored for pests. - A sample pest control checklist will be forwarded with this report.Ensure monthly pest control checks are completed and records are retained.
    • 19. Does the facility have a valid permit and does the facility operate in compliance with the conditions of that permit, or is the facility awaiting approval prior to operation?
      • No valid food handling permit is observed onsite.Ensure a valid food handling permit is displayed onsite and posted in a location easily visible to all patrons.
    • 22. Are utensils and equipment maintained in a condition and a manner that ensures the safe handling of food?
      • Shelf bracing on fridge door is missing and tape has been placed across to prevent items from falling. Ensure to remove tape or shelf bracing can be replaced with any material that is cleanable (plastic, metal or painted wood for example) as tape is not cleanable.
    • 23. Is the facility maintained in a clean and sanitary condition?
      • There is no written sanitation record available onsite.Ensure cleaning and sanitation record is maintained onsite.- A sample sanitation plan with a checklist will be forwarded with this report.
