      • Hair was observed inside the oil dispenser for the deep fryer for mini donuts. Operator was able to discard the contaminated oil and replace with fresh oil. Ensure that all food items are adequately protected to prevent the introduction of external contaminants.

    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • The skylight above the main prep area and outlet/mechanical access point below the hand washing sink did not appear to be properly screened to help prevent the entrance of pests.All exterior openings including vents and outletaccess points must be completely sealed to the outside to prevent the entry of pests
    • 22. Are utensils and equipment maintained in a condition and a manner that ensures the safe handling of food?
      • The metal bristles of the grill brushes were found to be in the state of disrepair. Loose metal bristles of the brush increase the risk of contaminating food and therefore risk of ingestion. The Operator discarded the old grill brush and replaced them with the new ones.

      • Accumulated dust was observed on the cap and the handles of the coffee pots.Ensure the coffee pots are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.

Make necessary repairs to this mobile food vending unit to ensure all windows and doors are screened for proper air circulation (in the summer months) and to help refrain from the entrance of pests.
