Inspection summary

Flute & Fromage has been inspected 3 times by Vancouver Coastal Health since June 18, 2024. The most recent inspection, on July 4, 2025, found no infractions.

2 of 3 inspections on record found no infractions at all. No inspections are on record from the past 12 months. The higher-risk findings here relate to: Cleaning and sanitizing.

What these findings mean

Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.

  • Cleaning and sanitizingHigher risk

Anything that touches food, such as cutting boards, dishes and utensils, must be washed, rinsed and sanitized. Inspectors check dishwasher temperatures, sanitizer strength and how wiping cloths are stored. Poor sanitizing lets bacteria survive from one use to the next.

Recorded once on July 4, 2025. For example: All equipment, food contact surfaces, utensils, dishes & glasses used on the premises are washed and sanitized in a manner that removes contamination.

  • Permits, records and postingLower risk

Operating permits, required signage, written procedures and logs. These findings are administrative: the documentation was missing or out of date at the time of inspection.

Recorded once on July 4, 2025. For example: Operator of a food service establishment has approved written procedures to ensure the safe and sanitary operation of the establishment.

Only place you should have fondue in Whistler. We’ve been to all the other fondue places in Whistler but Philippe at Flute & Fromage makes this place the best! Great mix of the cheeses and wine in the fondue and the side dishes are perfect. On another day we went we also had the burrata and the foie gras and they are both yummy. Excellent personal service, great view of the main square and delicious food. Thanks again! Went twice this trip! See you again soon.

Awesome little deli with a great selection of charcuterie, cheeses and tinned seafood with a lovely little patio. Great service and amazing platter of charcuterie and cheese. The place is also immaculately clean. Highly recommend you visit.

We had a beautifully prepared charcuterie and burrata with toasted bread. Everything was delicious and the atmosphere is tough to beat. I will say they may face trouble with seating if they get any busier, which they likely will with the quality of their food.

A lovely little spot. Great charcuterie, small bites and raclette with a nice wine selection. Extensive selection of cheeses and cured meats to purchase to-go. Outdoor seating with warming blankets where you can watch the world go by. Very friendly and accommodating staff.

Some of the best cheeses I’ve ever tried! Presentation was top notch and the cheese board did not disappoint. We also had the tartiflette and that was also delicious. It was a cold, rainy day but they had the umbrella set up, a heater to keep us warm and blankets to keep us cozy. Sadly, the restaurant next door was blasting music that contradicts the vibe they’re trying to set at Flute & Fromage. Will come back again and again.
