    • 26. Are proper measures being taken to ensure that vermin do not enter or exist in the facility (Critical)?
      • The site inspection revealed mouse droppings in the following areas including near the back door entrance to the playspace, the storage utility room and in the storage room at the front area of the building. Requirements:1. The most droppings must be removed. Please ensure to wear applicable PPE and saturate the mouse droppings with a 9:1 water to 5% bleach ratio solution prior to removal. 2. Potential mouse entrance points were observed. Light and space gaps were observed under the playspace and kitchen exit doors. Please ensure there are no open spaces under these doors. Weatherstripping may need adjustment or replacement. 3. The operator has placed various mouse control devices in the premises. Monitor these traps for activity. Monitor the premises for new mouse droppings. 4. Declutter the front storage area. Anything that is unused or unwanted, remove from the facility. Anything that cannot be properly cleaned shall be discarded ie. foam pieces.

      • 1) Evidence of a past water leak along the roof/ceiling line was observed. Ensure the roof is sufficiently repaired to prevent further water intrusion and possible damage to building materials, prior to facility opening.
    • 14. Is this facility properly heated to ensure client comfort (Non-Critical)?
      • 1) At the time of inspection, the set temperature on the thermostat was 21 degrees Celsius but the actual temperature was 15 degrees Celsius.Flooring surface temperature was 12 degrees Celsius.Both building owner and daycare operator stated they would have the furnace looked at.

      • 1) Evidence of a past water leak along the roof/ceiling line was observed. Ensure the roof is sufficiently repaired to prevent further water intrusion and possible damage to building materials, prior to facility opening. 2) Original flooring to remain in facility with potentially some washable foam matting or rugs in some areas.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • Please ensure all non-daycare related items are removed from facility, particularly all the items in the back (corner) storage area.
