    • 208 - Foods obtained from unapproved sources [s. 11]
      • Observation: Operator did not have invoices available on site to show where the meats and other products are being purchased from. Some unlabelled containers of prepackaged ready-to-eat items (green chutney and macaroni potato salad) were found in display coolers. Operator informed that they are from a restaurant in Abbotsford and they are approved under Fraser Health. She mentioned that they have invoices at home.
      • Corrective Action(s): Keep invoices on site as proof of purchase from approved sources. Food items should be labelled according to Health Canada's label requirements so consumers can be better informed about the ingredients such as allergens. Date to be corrected by: June 10, 2021.

      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Two containers of marinaded meats were left uncovered in the walk-in cooler.
      • Corrective Action(s): Ensure all food items are kept covered in the coolers to prevent cross-contamination.

      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): An insert of cooked chicken made this morning (approximately 4 hours ago) was in the cooler at 15C.
      • Corrective Action(s): Potentially hazardous foods must be cooled from 60C to 20C in 2 hours or less and from 20C to 4C in 4 hours or less to prevent the growth of pathogens and or the formation of toxins. Foods can be cooled rapidly using shallow containers and placing the food in the walk-in cooler. Chicken was transferred to the walk-in cooler in a shallow container at the time of inspection.

      • 302 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized [s. 17(2)]
      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Staff member was observed only washing equipment with soap and water and did not have a sanitize step.
      • Corrective Action(s): All equipment must be properly washed and then sanitized to destroy any pathogens. Bleach at 100ppm was prepared at the time of inspection to sanitize all equipment after washing.

      • Observation: Chemical spray bottles were unlabelled.
      • Corrective Action(s): Ensure all chemicals are properly labelled to identify their contents in order to prevent accidental mixing and or misuse of chemicals. Containers will need to be relabelled as needed.

    • 302 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized [s. 17(2)]
      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Meat grinder observed with debris on it in the walk-in-cooler and was it was last used more than 4 hours ago according to the Person in Charge. Grinder was only washed and rinsed and left to air dry during the inspection and was not immersed in 100 ppm chlorine sanitizer. Third compartment was filled with equipment that was left to air dry in it.
      • Corrective Action(s): Person in charge setup 100 ppm chlorine sanitizer in the third compartment of the three-compartment sink and sanitized it for at least 2 minutes upon verbal direction by the district EHO. Ensure all food contact surfaces are pre-scraped, washed, rinsed, sanitized, and then air dried on the shelving unit/sloped surface of the drain board.

      • 303 - Equipment/facilities/hot & cold water for sanitary maintenance not adequate [s. 17(3); s. 4(1)(f)]
      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Greater than 200 ppm chlorine sanitizer was measured in the spray bottle as the chlorine test strips used to measure it were blanking out.
      • Corrective Action(s): Operator setup 100 ppm chlorine sanitizer (1/2 teaspoon bleach per L of water) in the spray bottle.

    • 308 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces are not in good working order [s. 16(b)]
      • Observation: Handsink is leaking water even when the faucets are turned off.
      • Corrective Action(s): Repair the handsink (without shutting off the valves/water supply) to ensure that there is no leak; Correct within 1 week. Contact the district EHO of Fraser Health for a follow up inspection.

      • 312 - Items not required for food premises operation being stored on the premises [s. 18]
      • Observation: Hot-holding unit was present on-site. This facility does not hold a valid permit to operate and does not have health approval to sell any cooked or hot food products. Note: Hot-holding unit was empty of food at the time of inspection.
      • Corrective Action(s): Remove the hot-holding unit from the food premises; Correct within 1 month.
