- 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
- Both doors in the facility were open at the time of the inspection and there were no screen doors in place. There were a number of flies in the kitchen. There was a large pile of cardboard stacked by north door that was being taken out for recycling. No evidence of other pests in corners, underneath equipment, along walls, in dry storage areas. Doors were closed at the time of the inspection; operator was advised doors could not be open until proper fitting screens have been installed. Must take measures to reduce flies ie. install fly strips - in non-food areas and ensure they are changed out. If this does not work, hire a pest control company. Ensure all surfaces and equipment are continually wiped with sanitizer throughout the day and at the start of each day. Ensure all garbage and recyclables are removed from the facility each day.
