    • 302 - Critical Repeat Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized [s. 17(2)]
      • Observation: Manual dishwashing was not conducted appropriately with a sanitize step. Operator was not able to describe the correct procedure for two compartment sink ware washing.
      • Corrective Action: Operator to ensure they have a container set-up for sanitizing step for their equipment. This needs to be seperate from your handwashing sink.
    • 501 - Operator does not have FOODSAFE Level 1 or Equivalent [s. 10(1)]
      • Observation: A person in charge who has Level 1 FOODSAFE training must be on at all times the establishment is in operation.
      • Corrective Action: Ensure staffing schedules provide for FoodSafe trained personnel to be present at all times.

    • 301 - Critical Repeat Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not maintained in sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
      • Observation: The ice machine had slime and filth buildup inside the unit on both sides. Mold, slime buildups are good harbouring sites for pathogens such as Salmonella, Norovirus, or E.coli and can end up transferring to the ice and possibly making a consumer sick.
      • Corrective Action: Operator to clean and sanitize the ice machine after removing the ice. Sanitization plan must be updated and frequency of cleaning must be increased to maintain the machine in a sanitary manner.
    • 302 - Critical Repeat Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized [s. 17(2)]
      • Observation: Smoothie jars are not sanitized after washing and rinsing. There was no sanitizer solution available at the sink area. Use of unsanitary utensils may encourage growth of pathogens and toxin production which may lead to foodborne illnesses when foods prepared are consumed by the public.
      • Corrective Action: The operator obtained a QUATs sanitizer solution from office and added it to the two-compartment sink. To ensure the QUATs concentration is at 200 ppm, the operator will order sanitizer test strips to measure the concentration.
    • 309 - Chemicals, cleansers, & similar agents stored or labeled improperly [s. 27]
      • Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Spray bottles containing chemicals were missing appropriate labels. (Health significance) - Inaccurately labelled chemical agents can cause accidental misuse, which may result in potential contamination and inadequate sanitation of food contact surfaces.
      • Corrective Action: Ensure all chemicals used in the premises are appropriately labelled to identify the contents. Operator labelled the bottles with a permanent marker and will fill it with QUATs sanitizer.
