      • Sealed bag of potatoes found on the floor. Corrected during inspection.

      • In the walk-in cooler, on the right-hand side lower shelf, two white plastic storage bins have dust particles on top of lids. Please clean them now and ensure they are maintained in clean and sanitized on regular basis.

      • Dust and grease particles are building up around the grease trap. Please clean it now and maintain it on a regular basis.

      • Two cleaning cloths were observed left on the kitchen counter and not stored in the sanitizing solution when not in use. The issue was corrected during the inspection.
    • 08. Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Non-Critical)?
      • A bag of oats was stored directly on the floor.Please store all food items at least 6 inches off the floor to prevent pest contamination and allow proper cleaning.
    • 19. Does the facility have a valid permit and does the facility operate in compliance with the conditions of that permit, or is the facility awaiting approval prior to operation?
      • The food handling permit has expired and needs to be renewed.When asked, the manager confirmed that many of our Alberta sites have not yet received these permits. Our corporate office is aware of the situation and is currently working with the issuer to resolve this.Our office will coordinate directly with the permitting office via a separate email.

    • 17. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this food facility (Critical)?
      • Observation: A small ice buildup was noted at the condensing unit of the walk-in freezer, with some ice also observed dropping onto the floor. The manager mentioned that the ice is currently being scraped off on a regular basis.Corrective Action Advised: At this time, the ice has not affected any covered food items stored on the racks. The manager was advised to relocate food items away from the affected area as a precautionary measure. It is also recommended that maintenance be contacted to assess and address the issue before it escalates and potentially impacts food safety or equipment performance.

      • Observation:Two cleaning cloths were found left out on counters.Corrective Action:Cleaning cloths must be stored in an approved sanitizer solution between uses to prevent contamination.Corrected during inspection.

      • The handle of a scoop was found submerged in a dry food container. In a second dry food container, a single-use disposable cup was being used as a scoop.Action Taken:Proper storage of scoops in dry food containers was discussed to prevent contamination from bare hands. It was recommended to purchase appropriate scoops designed for food handling.

      • It was observed that weather stripping on the receiving door was in disrepair. There is small gap under the receiving door.The weather stripping must be replaced to prevent pest infestation.

      • Paper towel dispenser (near the loading area) is in disrepair.Staff indicated that the wrong size part (require for proper rolling out of papers) for dispenser was ordered and therefore do not fit in the dispenser however the correct size has been ordered.Ensure paper towels dispenser is repaired and kept supplied.

      • Clean and sanitized utensils were stored in blue storage container that has an accumulation of food debris/dust particles at the bottom part of container. Please ensure that staff is cleaning and sanitizing blue storage container on regular basis.

      • The flooring in the walk in cooler and under cooking grill, requires proper scrubbing and cleaning.Please clean all the noted areas now and on regular basis.

      • A lot of dust and grease was noted underneath the oven.The shelves on the side of the stand mixer were dusty.The equipments in the first drawer underneath the stand mixer needs to be cleaned. It has flour on them. The sealing needs to be cleaned especially above the oven.
