      • Observation: Food contact surfaces are cleaned but not sanitized. No active sanitizer observed at time of inspection. (Public Health Significance) Food contact surfaces, equipment, utensils should be sanitized after cleaning. Sanitizing solutions must be strong enough to destroy bacteria on surfaces to prevent the contamination of staff, clients or food on contact with the improperly cleaned surface.
      • Corrective Action: Monitor and change sanitizing solutions as required to always maintain an effective concentration (200 ppm unscented bleach, 200 ppm QUAT)- follow manufacturer's specifications)

    • 209 - Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]
      • Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Foods stored in same area as non-food products (tanning products). (Public Health significance) - Contamination of food from contact with non food products e.g chemicals can cause serious illness.
      • Corrective Action: This was corrected at time of inspection. All tanning products were removed from drawers in food preparation area and will be stored in seprate area. Also, on display shelf, foods should be above and/or separate from non food products.
    • 302 - Critical Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized [s. 17(2)]
      • Observation: Inadequate sanitizing step observed. Staff was unable to explain proper manual dish washing. (Public Health significance) - Manual dish washing requires 200 ppm unscented bleach solution or quat solution to kill bacteria and render dishware safe to use by patrons..
      • Corrective Action: Staff is aware cannot serve smoothies until the sanitizer system is in place. Ensure dishware are washed and sanitized following three steps of manual dish washing.
