    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • Even when pests are not evident, a pest monitoring program is required. Develop and maintain a pest monitoring program.The door to the storage shed has a gap at the bottom that could allow for pest entry. Repair the door so that there is no gap.
    • 18. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this food facility (Non-Critical)?
      • The fire suppression system last inspection was over 6 months ago. Have the suppression system inspected. Proof that an appointment has been made must be provided to the inspector within 1 week, should this not occur then a referral will be sent to the Fire Codes Safety Inspector for the area.
    • 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
      • The butcher block table with the meat saw on it is deeply grooved. Have the top resurfaced or replaced. Until this is repaired no food may be laid directly on the surface. The back door frame moves significantly when opening and closing the door. Investigate the cause of this issue. Have the door frame repaired. Several tiles are missing in the area near the back door. Operator indicated that the tiles have been purchased and planned to replace them this week. There are holes in the drywall in the dry storage area. The holes must be repaired so the walls are smooth, nonporous and easily cleanable. Metal flashing under the ovens are lifting. Ensure the metal is secured to the floor so that food debris cannot get under it.
    • 22. Are utensils and equipment maintained in a condition and a manner that ensures the safe handling of food?
      • Several of the table tops in the customer seating area are in disrepair and have tape holding pieces together. These surfaces can no longer be adequately cleaned. Replace the table tops.
    • 23. Is the facility maintained in a clean and sanitary condition?
      • The facility was clean at the time of inspection however a cleaning and sanitation program has not been developed. Develop and maintain a sanitation program.
