Inspection summary

Harvest-Gobo has been inspected 8 times by Vancouver Coastal Health since September 16, 2020. The most recent inspection, on April 2, 2026, recorded 1 infraction.

2 of 8 inspections on record found no infractions at all. In the past 12 months there were 2 inspections with 5 infractions recorded. The higher-risk findings here relate to: Cleaning and sanitizing.

The number of infractions per inspection has stayed roughly the same over time.

What these findings mean

Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.

  • Cleaning and sanitizingHigher risk

Anything that touches food, such as cutting boards, dishes and utensils, must be washed, rinsed and sanitized. Inspectors check dishwasher temperatures, sanitizer strength and how wiping cloths are stored. Poor sanitizing lets bacteria survive from one use to the next.

Recorded 4 times across 4 separate inspections, most recently on February 5, 2026. For example: The premises and all equipment, utensils, and food contact surfaces are maintained in good condition and used in a manner that ensures safe and sanitary food handling.

  • Permits, records and postingLower risk

Operating permits, required signage, written procedures and logs. These findings are administrative: the documentation was missing or out of date at the time of inspection.

Recorded 8 times across 6 separate inspections, most recently on April 2, 2026. For example: The Permit to Operate a food service establishment is valid and is posted in a conspicuous location.

  • Food safety training and certificationLower risk

Most jurisdictions require a certified food handler or manager on site, and some require allergen or food-worker training. These findings mean the paperwork or the trained person was missing at the time. They do not by themselves mean food was handled unsafely.

Recorded once on February 5, 2026. For example: A Certified food safety training course has been taken by the operator and food handlers of the food service establishment.

A bit of a mixed bag. The oysters were incredible and cocktails were good - albeit strong. That said we gotta talk about the tomato. What is going on here?? I have never been so perplexed at a restaurant. I love tomato's as much as the next person, but this truly was just a tomato sliced in half with a few scallops and some creme fraiche. In the reviews I see other tomato dishes that look more thoughtful and intentional so I have to think this was a joke.

Loved how the servers were spinning music while working at the same time. Intimate and dark vibe. Music was amazing. The vibes are kinda where you need to shout to hear each other but not that big of a deal. Food was really mediocre though, I’d probably just come back for the space and vibes. Server had solid knowledge of the wines.

Did I... Just find my new favorite place in Vancouver? Did I... Just find my new favorite DISH in Vancouver? Yes, yes I did. If you're a foodie, a vibe rider, a music lover, a whimsical person... Just go. You'll thank me. Order the foie sesame ball things. Feel the world stop. Go with their pairing recommendations. Ask the DJ what that cool song is. See rainbows. Fall in love. Enjoy!

Went here for their dine out menu on a Sunday and will be coming back for the steak and gnocchi courses alone. They were melt in your mouth delicious. Really wanted to give this place 5 stars but felt the dessert course let them down which is a shame as everything else on their dine out menu was so tasty and delectable. The ambience was great too, the music wasn't too loud. The space is small but intimate and cozy. The staff were friendly and attentive. It's a shame their steak and gnocchi dishes are only available for dine out but will be coming back with a different friend to experience it.

Bar Gobo is an absolute hidden gem. Staff is wonderful, music is on point and the food is creative and delicious. Everything we ordered was great, including the house-made focaccia, cabbage salad and delicata squash, but the stars for me were definitely the chicken liver mousse bites, the oyster and the mushroom pasta. We loved it so much went twice on our trip. Highly, highly recommend!
