    • 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
      • 1) Exhaust canopy hood: unknown last professional cleaning - the existing Max-Air sticker on the unit shows cleaning completed sometime in 2020 - 2022.There is also a burnt out light bulb which requires replacing to provide more adequate lighting to easier facilitate cleaning. Our Department would also recommend changing the bulbs to LED.2) Missing light tube for the ceiling light fixture behind the exhaust canopy hood - new tube is required to be installed.
    • 23. Is the facility maintained in a clean and sanitary condition?
      • At the time of inspection (1230 hours), there was a significant amount of food debris and grease/oil observed in the food concession particularly at floor-wall junctions and around the cooking equipment and 3-compartment sinks. These areas are required to be cleaned to meet our standards of cleanliness.Moreover, the exhaust canopy hood filters and interior of the hood and the area around the cooking equipment has a significant layer of grease requiring cleaning.

    • 23. Is the facility maintained in a clean and sanitary condition?
      • Observed a significant amount of debris/refuse behind both chest freezers (2) - please clean and maintain in a clean and sanitary condition at all times.Operator has also stated that the small portion of unpainted floor finish will also be completed after the cleaning.Finally, due to the Maintenance Staff summer holiday schedule, the deadline to complete this task has been extended to September 30, 2024.

    • 15. Is the facility free of a pest infestation?
      • Side Exit Door - replace torn rubber door sweep to prevent the potential entry of mice from outside into the building. Observed on December 15, 2023 that this task has yet to be completed.Observed metal rodent traps (2) in both the concession underneath the 3-compartment sinks and also in the room where the two (2) chest freezers are located - thank you.
    • 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
      • PUBLIC WASHROOMS (MEN'S AND LADIES):1) Observed several water-stained ceiling tiles in the men's washroom (near door entrance) during the inspection on December 15, 2023 which require replacement with new ceiling tiles. Ensure the water leak (which caused the staining) is eliminated prior to replacement. Moreover, also observed missing ceiling tiles in the women's washroom (above middle toilet stall).2) Significant portion of the flooring finish in the dry storage room has peeled paint and subsequently a new concrete paint finish is completed to ensure the floor is easily cleanable. Finally, the flooring finish should be light in color.3) Bubbled floor finish to the right of the deep fat fryer in the kitchen - also contains water/liquid. The cause of this water accumulation should be checked and then the existing flooring finish should be repaired/replaced as deemed necessary.
    • 22. Are utensils and equipment maintained in a condition and a manner that ensures the safe handling of food?
      • Observed torn door seal on the Pepsi cooler door - should be replaced with a new door seal. Also note that this same deficiency was also observed on the last inspection report and would be a priority to complete.Moreover, a light fixture would be recommended to be installed to provide more adequate lighting and observed staining on the bottom of this refrigeration unit which requires cleaning.

    • 15. Is the facility free of a pest infestation?
      • 1) Evidence of a mouse issue in the dry storage room (where the two chest freezers are located) - several mouse droppings were observed on a cardboard box full of disposable containers. Thorough cleaning is required particularly behind the chest freezers, bag of onions which is directly stored on the floor should be stored at least 1' off the floor, and room should be re-organized to create an environment that discourages mice.2) Side Exit Door - replace torn rubber door sweep to prevent the potential entry of mice from outside into the building.
