- 21. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Critical)?
- Hot water temperature at all bathroom and preschool room tap fixtures were measured at 68 C (with our AHS digital probe thermometer) which exceeds the maximum hot water temperature of 49 C.Please follow-up with the Maintenance Department of the school to lower this hot water temperature which is currently not in compliance.
- 31. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Critical)?
- 1) Currently, observed one (1) sink in the preschool for washing and sanitizing of toys and dishes. This is not in compliance and a three compartment stainless steel sinks would be the requirement so you can achieve the three sink method for dishwashing of toys and dishes. Moreover, bar matting should be in place instead of towels to capture excess water after sanitizing of dishes and toys. Finally, ensure the sinks purchased are adequately sized and deep enough to achieve complete immersion of the largest toy/utensil.2) As discussed, please purchase chlorine test strip papers to ensure that a minimum of 100 ppm chlorine is used to properly sanitize all toys and utensils - this is also the same concentration required for the bleach bottle solution for spraying and sanitizing of counters and tables. Finally, the items which cannot be disassembled and placed into the sink of bleach solution must be sanitized in-place with a minimum of 200 ppm chlorine solution.
