    • 10. Are food temperatures during storage and processing being controlled to maximize food safety?
      • The fridge temperature in the out of school care room measured greater than 4C. The fridge settings were adjusted during the inspection and temperatures were rechecked at the end of the inspection and they had decreased significantly but were still slightly above 4C. Ensure the temperatures of the fridges are monitored regularly and action taken if required. If the units cannot maintain all products below 4C at all times then have them serviced and/or replaced. - November 29, 2024: The out of school care room fridge measured 5C and rose to 6C at the end of the inspection - no food was inside at the time. Ensure the temperature of the unit is maintained at or below 4C consistently before storing perishables inside.

      • The fridge in room 245 measured 11C. Do not use this unit until it can maintain products at or below 4C at all times. Repair or replace the fridge as needed. In the meantime, any perishables from packed lunches in this room should be stored in a different fridge.Discussed issue with the childcare supervisor and she indicated that she would monitor the temperature and recommend unit replacement to upper management.

      • The fridge temperature in the out of school care room measured greater than 4C. The fridge settings were adjusted during the inspection and temperatures were rechecked at the end of the inspection and they had decreased significantly but were still slightly above 4C. Ensure the temperatures of the fridges are monitored regularly and action taken if required. If the units cannot maintain all products below 4C at all times then have them serviced and/or replaced.
    • 23. Is the facility maintained in a clean and sanitary condition?
      • Logs for fridge temperatures and sanitizer concentrations were not consistently completed throughout the rooms or were missing. Discussed issue with facility manager during inspection logs are in place ensure they are completed. - March 18, 2024 - The facility director indicated that the toddler room closest to the out of school care room had been closed for a few months which accounted for the lack of log keeping in that room. - The fridge temperature logs in the middle toddler room were blank. - May 22, 2024 - both sets of logs in the 2 toddler rooms were not complete.

The fridge settings were adjusted during the inspection and temperatures were rechecked at the end of the inspection and they had decreased significantly but were still slightly above 4C. Ensure the temperatures of the fridges are monitored regularly and action taken if required. If the units cannot maintain all products below 4C at all times then have them serviced and/or replaced.
