  1. Initial Inspection

    2 infractions

    • 209 - Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]
      • Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Dispensing scoops/spoons were found resting on top of food products. Specifically, one scoop was found in the flour container, sushi rice container, sugar container, and brown sugar container. (Public Health significance): Storing scoops directly inside food containers can lead to contamination and cross-contamination when employees come into hand contact with the food product.
      • Corrective Action: Scoops must be stored separately from food containers to prevent contamination. Ensure they are placed in a designated area, container, or food-grade holder when not in use.
    • 301 - Critical Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not maintained in sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
      • Observation: Cheese build-up was observed on the top of the handle of the meat slicer. (Public Health significance): The presence of cheese build-up on food equipment handles can contribute to bacterial growth and contamination. Since the handle is frequently touched during food preparation, this can lead to the transfer of pathogens to other surfaces, utensils, or directly onto food, increasing the risk of foodborne illness.
      • Corrective Action: All equipment, utensils, and food contact surfaces must be cleaned, sanitized, and maintained in a sanitary condition to prevent contamination .
