      • Written procedures for preparation of skin and client care in case of accidental cut and puncture were not available.Ensure written procedures are developed.
    • 06. Do operators and personal services workers comply with the Personal Services Regulation and Standards and do they have the skills and knowledge to perform their duties in a safe and sanitary manner?
      • -Personal Services workers lacked the skills and knowledge to perform their duties in a safe and sanitary manner; they were not able to classify equipment as non-critical, semi-critical and critical; they were not following manufacturer’s instructions.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • August 5, 2025: The operator was still not compliant.- Semi-critical equipment is not being adequately cleaned and disinfected. Ensure semi-critical must be cleaned and disinfected using, at a minimum, a high-level disinfectant.- High level disinfectants are not being tested and verified daily using proper test strips. Ensure the high-level disinfectant is tested daily using the test strips specified by the disinfectant manufacturer.- Disinfection records were not available. Ensure records are kept of: test dates, whether the solution passed/failed, when the disinfectant was changed and the worker’s initials who performed the activity.-Hair clippers were not disinfected after each use.The operator was advised to disinfect hair clippers using, at a minimum, a low-level disinfectant.August 6, 2025: The operator was still not compliant.Re-usable Semi-critical tools (double-loop comodone extractors) were not disinfected after each use.The staff member informed that the extractors are cleaned but not disinfected.

      • Previous inspection 2022: Reusable, semi-critical tools were being disinfected using intermediate-level disinfection. (extractor loop, eyelash extension tweezers). Ensure semi-critical tools, including those listed above, are disinfected using a high-level disinfectant.
    • 26. Are cosmetic products appropriate for their intended use and being handled properly?
      • Seven tubes of Augenblick tint were being used for eyebrow tinting.The manufacturer's instructions for the product mentioned that it is not supposed to be used on eyebrows and eyelashes; to do so may cause blindness.

      • Two bottles in the pedicure station were not labeled.Ensure all cosmetic products are properly labeled.

      • The pillows in the spa treatment rooms were not impervious to moisture. Replace the pillows with those that are smooth and easy to clean. Alternatively, obtain impervious pillow covers.
