    • 03. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Critical)?
      • -The chemicals storage cupboards under the kitchen sink were not locked. Locks were replaced at the time of inspection.-The lock on the cupboard under the sink in the Baby Room was broken. The lock was replaced at the time of inspection.
    • 04. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Non-Critical)?
      • -There were several small loose parts in the Toddler Room that are a choking hazard. These were removed at the time of inspection.-Colourful foam blocks in the Toddler Room had bite marks; this is a choking hazard. These blocks are not recommended in Toddler Rooms. If they are going to be used please ensure any that have bite marks are removed. Damaged blocks were removed during the inspection.

      • -The surface of the ceilings, walls, and/or floors in this social care facility are not acceptable. There was a green floor covering in the Pre-school room that was lifting and creating a tripping hazard. Please address.
    • 21. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Critical)?
      • -The plumbing system for this social care facility is not being properly maintained. One of the washroom sinks was not working. Please repair.*The water at one of the washroom sinks was too cold. Please turn it up so that it is warm but not too hot to cause scaulding (under 42C).

      • The glass on the infant room door was broken and was removed. The door has been boarded up and the facility is waiting for the glass to arrive for installation. Temperatures around the door measured lower than the rest of the room at 17C. Please repair or replace the door so that it is in good working condition.

    • 03. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Critical)?
      • Blind cord for window was not secured on hook in the preschool room. Please safely secure hooks above children's reach.
    • 04. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Non-Critical)?
      • Carpet in the preschool room was observed to slide with movements. The edges of the carper were pushed under heavy items to keep it in place.
    • 17. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Critical)?
      • Disinfectants were expired in 2022. They were disposed of during inspection.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • Paint on the diapering table was peeling/chipping. Please repair so that surface is smooth, easy to clean and impervious to moisture.
