      • -The chemical cupboard in the kitchen was not secure. Please secure or move chemicals above children’s reach.

      • -Ceiling tiles above the hand sink in the Toddler Room were water stained. Please replace and ensure any leaks are addressed.

      • -The chemical cupboard in the kitchen was not secure. Please secure or move chemicals above children’s reach.

      • -Bingo dabbers in the Pre-school Room were labelled “keep out of reach of children.” They were removed at the time of inspection. Please ensure that only non-toxic craft supplies are used.

      • -There was no paper towel available for wiping the diapering mats. Please ensure that only paper towel is used for wiping.

      • -Re-useable cloths were being used for drying hands. Please ensure that only single use towels are used for drying hands.

      • -Staff personal items were being stored on a low shelf in the Toddler Room; accessible to children. Please ensure staff items are stored in a designated area out of reach.

      • -Illness logs were not being filled out. Please ensure these are filled out and any outbreaks are reported to Alberta Health Services.

    • 15. Is laundry being properly handled in a suitable manner?
      • -Unclean cloths were left on surfaces in the Baby Room. Ensure used cloths are immediately placed into the laundry.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • -There were no cleaning schedules in classrooms. Please ensure that cleaning checklists are developed and staff are checking them daily.
    • 24. Are sleeping supplies and areas sufficient to ensure client safety and comfort (Non-Critical)?
      • -Sleeping mats were being stored next to each other with sheets on. Please ensure that bedding materials are stored separate for each child. Mats need to be cleaned and disinfected on both sides after each use.

      • -There was no paper towel at the handwashing sink in the washroom

      • -There were bingo dabbers in the Baby Room that were not labelled as non-toxic. The operator removed them at the time of inspection-Electric outlets did not have safety covers in the Baby Room. They were replaced at the time of inspection. Please ensure that plugs are equipped with covers when not in use.

      • -Used cloths were observed on surfaces throughout the facility. They were placed in the laundry at the time of inspection. Please ensure that cloths are used once only and then placed in the laundry bin. It is strongly recommended that you have bins in each classroom for clean and dirty cloths.

      • -There were no cleaning schedules in classrooms. Please ensure that cleaning checklists are developed and staff are checking them daily.

      • -Sleeping mats were being stored next to each other with sheets on. Please ensure that bedding materials are stored separate for each child. Mats need to be cleaned and disinfected on both sides after each use.

      • -There was no paper towel for drying hands in the main washroom. The paper towel was replaced at the time of inspection. Please ensure that sinks are kept stocked with handwashing supplies at all times.
