What these findings mean

Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.

  • Building, plumbing and upkeepLower risk

Floors, walls and ceilings must be smooth and clean, with working lighting, ventilation, plumbing, hot and cold water, and washrooms. These are rarely an immediate food-safety risk on their own, but persistent problems can lead to pest or sanitation issues.

Recorded once on August 13, 2026. For example: Does the facility have an adequate supply of potable hot and cold running water and is the water sampled at required intervals?

    • 14. Does the facility have an adequate supply of potable hot and cold running water and is the water sampled at required intervals?
      • The water sample collected on August 11, 2026, came back with a total coliform (TC) result of 3.Pat called to explain what had happened with the sample. The sample was taken from the bathroom with the screen removed; however, the water came out so quickly that the bottle overflowed. Pat was unsure whether this could have affected the sample. I advised that it possibly could, as the low TC result may indicate a sampling error.Pat also mentioned that they recently installed a new water softening system.I advised Pat that they have a history of good sample results and, given the low TC count, I am not overly concerned at this time. We agreed that she will collect two additional samples next Tuesday—one before the water softener and one after—to determine whether the softening system may be contributing to the result.
