- 05. Do food handlers refrain from handling food while ill and have acceptable attire and hygiene?
- At time of site visit:1. A discussion was held with the manager of this facility. It was discussed that all food handlers must ensure that gloves are always removed when conducting an alternate duty (such as handling cash). When the alternate duty is completed, the employee is required to wash hands and then wear a new pair of gloves prior to handling food. A copy of the AHS document "Guidelines for proper glove use in food establishments" was served to the manager for review and to ensure all employees read this document and thus are conducting proper glove use. Also, if there is only one employee on shift at any one time, it is likely not the best time to prepare sandwiches. It is best to handle food when the second employee comes on shift - so that the second employee can handle all cashier's duties.Be advised that it is not assumed that any "specific employee" conducted these deficiencies (as this was not observed during an official inspection). This site visit is meant to meet with the manager to discuss this complaint and to action it with all employees so that it does not re-occur in the future.

- At time of inspection:1. Electrical extension cords appeared to be found within two exterior downspouts. It is undertood that this practice is being conducted to ensure water does not freeze within the downspouts during the extreme cold weather. It is unclear as to whether these electrical cords are connected to a ground fault interrupted receptacle and it is also not determined whether approval (for this practice) has been granted by the local municipal safety codes department. The owner / operator of this facility is requested to conduct the following, namely:1. Contact the municipal safety codes office (electrical) to determine whether this practice is considered safe and permitted.******AT TIME OF RE-INSPECTION, A CONSULTATION WITH THE NEIGHBORING BANK OCCURRED. DURING THIS CONVERSATION, A MANAGER / SUPERVISOR FOR THIS BANK IS GOING TO DETERMINE WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS BUILDING. INFORMATION WAS SERVED TO THE MANAGER / SUPERVISOR ON WHO TO CONTACT (I.E.
